Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated development projects worth ₹5,500 crore to boost Prayagraj's infrastructure and prepare for the 2025 Maha Kumbh. The projects include new flyovers, ghats, riverfront roads, and sewage treatment systems.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated major development projects worth Rs 5,500 crore to improve Prayagraj's infrastructure and upgrade facilities for the 2025 Maha Kumbh.
After the inauguration, he visited the Hanuman Mandir and Saraswati Koop, following a pooja at the famous Akshay Vata Vriksh. Modi also toured the Maha Kumbh exhibition venue.
Mahakumbh: Mahayagya of Unity
According to Modi, "The Maha Kumbh is a mahayagya of unity." "The event will raise the cultural and spiritual identity of the nation to unprecedented levels", said PM Modi. With a budget of Rs 5,500 crore, the prime minister launched 167 major development projects to upgrade the city's infrastructure in preparation for the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela.
Major Infrastructure Projects Launched
The Prime Minister launched several projects to enhance Prayagraj’s infrastructure, including:
- Improved Road and Rail Connectivity: Ten new flyovers and road bridges, along with permanent ghats and riverfront roads, will be built to improve travel and handle the large number of devotees during the Maha Kumbh Mela.
- Clean Ganga Mission: Projects will be set up to treat minor drains flowing into the Ganga, ensuring no untreated water is released into the river, supporting PM Modi's vision of a clean and pure Ganga.
- Temple corridors: the opening of important temple corridors including the Hanuman Mandir Corridor, the Bharadwaj Ashram Corridor, the Shringverpur Dham Corridor, and the Akshayvat Corridor. These hallways will facilitate devotees' access and encourage spiritual travel.
- Infrastructure Developments: Initiatives pertaining to Prayagraj's power and drinking water systems to improve public facilities.
Kumbh Sah'AI'yak Chatbot During Mahakumbh
PM Modi also introduced the Kumbh Sah'AI'yak Chatbot, an AI-powered virtual assistant created to give devotees attending the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 real-time direction, updates, and information in a tech-driven initiative.
