AAM Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal declared that the Delhi government cabinet has approved the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana ahead of the February 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has not yet confirmed the dates for the elections. Although it is expected that the 70-member Delhi parliament would hold elections by the end of February 2024.
What is Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Scheme?
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal presented the plan, which was included in the fiscal year 2024–2025 budget with a ₹2,000 crore budget allotted for it.
This program is intended to provide eligible women in Delhi with ₹1,000 in monthly cash support with the goal of improving the lives of impoverished women.
"I had promised Delhi women ₹1000 a month. And I'm pleased to report that today, this plan was approved by CM Atishi's cabinet. Women may now sign up and take advantage of this program," Kejriwal told reporters on December 12.
Additionally, he stated that if the AAP regains power in the next elections, it is anticipated to rise to ₹2,100.
Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Scheme: Eligibility Criteria
