The Jharkhand Karmchari Chayan Ayog has opened 7,299 Assistant Acharya (Para Teacher) posts across government primary and upper primary schools in all 24 districts. Applications opened on 31 July 2026 and the form window shuts at midnight on 30 August 2026.
Most sites are reporting this as one notification. It is actually two, and if you get that distinction wrong you will either apply for the wrong set of posts or pay a fee you did not need to pay. That is where this guide starts.

Every Deadline You Need on Your Wall
There are five separate deadlines here, not one. JSSC has split registration, payment and document upload into different windows, and each has its own cut-off.
A warning that matters more than it looks. The JSSC portal makes you log in on separate days for separate steps. You register first, then pay the fee only after logging in again the next day past 12 noon, then upload your photo and signature one day after payment. If you start your form on 29 August, that sequence gets very tight. Do it this week.
Two Advertisements, One Form: What Actually Differs
This is the part that trips people up, so read it slowly.
- Advt No. 04/2026 covers 6,101 regular vacancies. Open to any candidate who meets the qualification and age criteria. If you are a fresh D.El.Ed or B.Ed holder with a TET pass, this is your notification.
- Advt No. 05/2026 covers 1,198 backlog vacancies. These are reserved only for candidates already serving as Para Teacher (Sahayak Adhyapak) under the Jharkhand Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad, Ranchi, with at least two continuous years of service as on the advertisement date.
- One form, one fee, one exam. If you qualify for both, you submit a single application, pay a single fee, and sit a single common examination. You do not fill two forms.
Serving para teachers with two years behind them are in the best position in this entire recruitment. You can compete for the open 6,101 and the reserved 1,198 at the same time, at no extra cost.

Look at the Social Science column. Only 660 regular posts against 1,868 for Language and 1,664 for Science and Mathematics. If your graduation is in Arts or Commerce, understand that you are entering the tightest stream in this recruitment. Both brochures carry full district-wise and category-wise splits for all 24 districts, and JSSC has said these figures may still be revised on departmental request.
Eligibility: Do You Actually Qualify?
Class 1 to 5, Intermediate Trained
You need 10+2 with at least 50 percent marks plus a 2-year D.El.Ed. Alternatives accepted: Higher Secondary with 45 percent plus a 2-year diploma from the 2007 to 2009 session under NCTE norms, or 10+2 with 50 percent plus a 4-year B.El.Ed, or 10+2 with 50 percent plus a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), or graduation with a 2-year D.El.Ed.
On top of that, a JTET pass for Class 1 to 5 is required.
Class 6 to 8, Graduate Trained
All three streams also need B.Ed or equivalent training and a JTET pass for Class 6 to 8. A relaxation of 5 percent in minimum qualifying marks applies to SC, ST, EBC-I, BC-II and PwD candidates, and 7 percent for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups.
The CTET Question Everyone Is Asking
Yes, Jharkhand residents who cleared CTET or a neighbouring state's TET can apply. But there is a condition attached that gets buried in most write-ups. If selected, you must clear the JTET within 3 years of appointment, in your first available attempt. That is a real obligation, not a formality. Plan for it before you accept the posting.
Age Limit as on 1 August 2026
PwD candidates with 40 percent or higher certified disability get an extra 10 years. Ex-servicemen get 5 years. Serving para teachers under the Jharkhand Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad with two years of continuous service get relaxation equal to their contractual service period, capped at 58 years of age. That last provision is unusually generous and it exists for a reason: this recruitment is partly designed to regularise long-serving para teachers.

Salary: What You Take Home
These are pay-matrix scales, not in-hand figures. Your monthly credit will be basic plus DA, HRA and other Jharkhand government allowances, minus NPS and other deductions.
JTAACCE 2026 Exam Pattern
Selection runs on a single-stage Main Examination in OMR or CBT mode. All questions are objective multiple choice. There is no negative marking. If exams for a subject run across multiple groups or shifts, JSSC normalises the scores using the formula published on its website, and the merit list is built on normalised marks.
Class 1 to 5, Intermediate Trained
Merit is built on 300 marks. Paper 1 does not count towards it.
Class 6 to 8, Graduate Trained
Merit is built on 380 marks. Paper 4 alone carries 180 of them, which makes your optional subject the single biggest lever in this exam.

- Go to jssc.jharkhand.gov.in and open the "Application Forms (Apply)" section.
- Click the JTAACCE-2026 (Para Teacher) link and complete New Registration. Save the registration number and password sent by SMS and email.
- Log back in and fill personal, educational and category details. Select whether you are applying under 04/2026, 05/2026, or both.
- Log in again the next day after 12 noon and pay the fee online. One fee covers both advertisements.
- One day after payment, log in once more and upload your scanned photograph and signature.
- Verify everything, submit, and print the final form.
Make sure your name spelling and date of birth match your matriculation certificate character for character. A mismatch here is the most common reason candidatures get cancelled at document verification, and the correction window is only three days long.

Format matters here more than in most recruitments. JSSC has stated that certificates issued in a format other than the brochure appendices will generally not be accepted, and nothing issued after the application deadline counts.
How to Prepare From Here
The exam date has not been announced, which realistically gives you three to five months. Spend them like this.
- Lock your optional subject in week one. For Class 6 to 8 candidates, Paper 4 is 180 of 380 merit marks. Pick the stream your graduation actually supports, then build around it.
- Do not treat Paper 1 as free marks. It is qualifying at 30 percent, and every year some candidates clear the merit papers and fail here. Give the mother tongue paper two focused weeks.
- Jharkhand GK is the highest-return topic in Paper 3. State formation, tribal movements, Birsa Munda, districts, rivers, festivals, state schemes and the current Jharkhand political setup. National GK alone will not carry this section.
- Use no negative marking properly. Attempt every single question. Leaving a blank in this exam is a pure loss with no downside protection to gain.
