The wait is over. Railway Recruitment Boards released the RRB ALP CBT 2 admit card on 24 July 2026, four days before the Stage 2 exam under CEN 01/2025. The exam itself is on 28 July 2026, in multiple shifts, at centres spread across the country.

If you are one of the 1,58,705 candidates who cleared CBT 1 earlier this year, your e-call letter is now sitting inside your RRB login. This page covers the download steps, the fields you must verify before printing, the full CBT 2 exam pattern, qualifying marks, and a realistic plan for the last three days. One request before anything else: cross-check every date and instruction on your regional RRB website before you book travel.

How to Download the RRB ALP CBT 2 Admit Card

  1. Open your regional RRB website (the one you applied through) or the common portal rrbapply.gov.in.
  2. Click the link titled "e-Call Letter / Admit Card for ALP CBT 2, CEN 01/2025" on the notice board.
  3. Log in with your Registration Number and Date of Birth.
  4. Enter the captcha and submit. Your admit card opens as a PDF.
  5. Verify every field (checklist below), then download and take two printouts.

Why two printouts? One goes with you on exam day. The second stays home as backup, because RRBs ask for exam-stage documents again during document verification, and a lost call letter at that point is an avoidable headache.

Check These 7 Details Before You Close the PDF

  • Your name, spelt exactly as in the application
  • Roll number and registration number
  • Photograph and signature (clear, not blurred)
  • Exam centre name and full address
  • Exam date and shift
  • Reporting time and gate-closing time
  • Category and PwBD/scribe details, if applicable

Found a mismatch? Contact your regional RRB helpdesk immediately with your registration details. Do not wait for exam day to raise it at the centre gate; nobody there can fix it.

City Slip vs Admit Card: Only One Gets You In

The city intimation slip released on 18 July tells you the city where your exam falls, so you can plan tickets and a stay. That is all it does. It is not an entry document.

Entry to the exam hall needs the printed admit card plus an original photo ID. Candidates travelling from Patna, Ranchi or Gaya to another city should book now; a general ticket two days before a Railway exam is a gamble you do not want.

RRB ALP CBT 2 Exam Pattern: Part A Decides Your Merit

CBT 2 has two parts in a single sitting of 2 hours 30 minutes, with 175 questions in total. The two parts do very different jobs, and mixing them up is the most common planning mistake.

PartSubjectsQuestionsTimeRole
Part AMathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering10090 minutesCounts for merit and CBAT shortlisting
Part BRelevant trade (ITI/engineering discipline)7560 minutesQualifying only

Negative marking of one-third mark applies to wrong answers as per CEN norms; confirm the exact clause in your notification PDF. Part A marks travel forward, so accuracy there is worth more than raw attempts.

Here is the trap: because Part B is "only qualifying", many aspirants give it zero revision time. Then a technical trade paper turns up, 35% stops being automatic, and a merit-worthy Part A score goes to waste. Give your trade theory one honest revision block before 28 July.

Qualifying Marks in CBT 2

SectionCategoryMinimum qualifying marks
Part AUR40%
Part AEWS / OBC (NCL)30%
Part ASC30%
Part AST25%
Part BAll categories35%

These percentages follow the standard CEN 01/2025 norms. Treat them as the floor, not the target: actual CBAT shortlisting runs on Part A merit, which historically sits far above bare qualifying.

What to Carry on 28 July (and What to Leave Home)

  • Printed admit card (do not rely on a phone screenshot)
  • Original photo ID: the same identity document you entered in your online application. The official RRB instruction is strict here, and entry is refused if the original of that same ID is not produced
  • Passport-size photographs as specified on the call letter
  • A transparent water bottle, if your centre permits it

Leave at home: mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, written notes and bags of any kind. Centres for Railway exams are strict, and there is usually no safe storage for valuables.

Reach the centre well before the reporting time printed on your admit card. As per the official notice, Shift 1 reporting begins at 7:30 AM and Shift 2 at 12:30 PM, though your admit card is final on this. Gates close sharp, and late entry is refused without exception.

What Happens After CBT 2?

Part A merit decides who moves to the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), tentatively scheduled for 30 October 2026. The CBAT has no negative marking and tests memory, concentration and reaction through separate test batteries, each of which must be cleared individually.

As per CEN norms, the final ALP merit list gives 70% weightage to CBT 2 Part A and 30% to the CBAT, followed by document verification and medical examination. Verify the exact weightage clause in your notification, and keep every exam-stage document safely filed from today.

A Realistic 3-Day Revision Plan (25 to 27 July)

  • 25 July: One full Part A mock in a strict 90-minute window. Spend the evening only on the analysis: which Basic Science and Engineering topics leaked marks, and which reasoning sets ate time.
  • 26 July: Trade day. Revise Part B formulas, diagrams and instrument basics from your ITI or engineering notes. Finish with 25 to 30 trade questions.
  • 27 July: Light revision of formula sheets only. Print the admit card, pack your ID and photos, plan the route to the centre, and sleep early. No new topics today.

One honest caveat: this plan assumes your Basic Science and Engineering notes already exist. If they do not, spend 25 July on units and measurements, levers and simple machines, and basic electricity first. A mock attempted without the basics only burns confidence two days before the exam.

For timed practice, ExamAtlas has free Railway ALP-pattern mock tests with AI analytics that show your topic-wise accuracy across Maths, Reasoning and Basic Science, so the last 72 hours go into your actual weak zones. You can also revisit our RRB ALP recruitment guide for the full selection flow.

Final Word

Keep one eye on your regional RRB notice board between now and 28 July. Boards occasionally publish shift corrections or centre-specific instructions in the final 48 hours, and those notices never reach WhatsApp forwards in time.

And after the exam, do not discard anything. The admit card, the city slip and your response sheet screenshots are all asked about later, from the answer key window right up to document verification. A single folder today saves a frantic search in October.
