If you have not cleared STET, your real TRE 4.0 is a fight for 12,410 posts, not 32,388. Plan September around that number, not the headline one.

Graduation with a two-year D.El.Ed, or Graduation with B.Ed. CTET Paper-II or BTET Paper-II is compulsory.
Classes 9 to 10 and 11 to 12
Graduation or post-graduation in the relevant subject with a minimum 50% marks, plus B.Ed. Classes 9-10 need STET Paper-I in that subject, and classes 11-12 need STET Paper-II. The Rs 750 and Rs 200 pair is the structure Bihar used in the TRE 3.0 cycle. Some big sites appear to have carried it forward without rechecking. The Rs 100 plus Rs 200 biometric figure is what the newer notification-based listings report, and the biometric charge is described as payable separately for each post.

How to apply: the sequence that actually works
- Open bpsconline.bihar.gov.in and finish One Time Registration through the New User Registration button. Use an email ID and mobile number you will still control two years from now, because OTR carries across future BPSC exams.
- Link your DigiLocker account through Meri Pehchan when the portal asks for it.
- Fill the profile sections: personal details, address, qualification, category, and reservation claim.
- Upload a live webcam photograph. Several portals now capture this on the spot rather than accepting a scanned file, so sit somewhere with a plain background and decent light.
- Upload signatures in both Hindi and English. Sign on white paper with a black pen and scan, do not photograph a signature on a ruled notebook page.

Then, around 28 August, some outlets reported the prelims and mains split had been dropped in favour of a single examination. Older pages still carry a 22 to 27 September 2026 exam window, which cannot possibly hold when applications run till 30 September.

Bihar STET applications now run till 15 September 2026 after the deadline was pushed back, and the TRE 4.0 window runs to 30 September.
