BSSC Inter Level Admit Card 2026: Status, Expected Timeline and Preparation

As of September 2026 the BSSC Inter Level admit card has not been released, and no prelims date notice for Advertisement 02/23(A) appears on the commission's notice board. That is the honest answer, and this page keeps that separation throughout: what is confirmed from official sources, what is a pattern from previous cycles, and what is an expectation.

If you came here for a release date, nobody has one, including the sites whose headlines say otherwise. What we can give you is the sequence that has to complete first, a look at where the commission actually is in that sequence, and a plan for the waiting period that will still be useful the day the card drops.

What has to happen before the admit card

An admit card is the last step of a sequence, not the first. Here is where that sequence actually stands, going by the commission's own notice board.

  1. The exam conducting agency has to be selected. On 29 July 2026 BSSC issued a request for proposal to select an agency for conducting end to end computer based tests. On 27 August 2026 it extended the date for that same tender. Separate notices cover an agency for post examination and result processing, and for IRIS capturing and facial recognition.
  2. Centres have to be allotted. A recruitment of this size across Bihar needs centre planning before any date can be fixed.
  3. The prelims date notice has to appear on bssc.bihar.gov.in. Until it is on the notice board, no date is official.
  4. The admit card is released. In earlier cycles this has come about one to two weeks before the exam.

Read plainly, the commission was still at step one in late August 2026. We are not converting that into a predicted month, and you should be wary of anyone who does. But it does explain why the wait has run this long, and it is more information than a headline saying the date is out.

Why the "date out" headlines are wrong

Search for this exam and you will find several pages with OUT in the title. Open them and the body says "expected" or "tentative", usually pointing back to the February 2026 calendar window that has already passed. One popular aggregator even offers a "download exam date PDF" link that actually opens a printing tender notice.

Treat nothing as official unless it is on the bssc.bihar.gov.in notice board. Not a WhatsApp forward, not a YouTube thumbnail, not a screenshot with a commission letterhead. Live status is tracked on our exam date page.

What the admit card will carry, and what to take with it

Based on how BSSC admit cards have worked in previous cycles, expect your roll number, centre name and address, reporting time, photograph, signature and category. Download is normally through the commission website using your registration number with date of birth or password.

What you must carry is not guesswork. The notification is specific.

  • The printed admit card and an original photo identity document.
  • Three textbooks, one per section, since the prelims is an open book exam. Only NCERT, BSEB, ICSE and other board textbooks qualify.
  • Your name and roll number written on every book. Nothing else may be written inside, or your candidature is cancelled.
  • No mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators or other electronic devices.
  • No guides, photocopies or handwritten notes, whatever the subject.

One caution from the notification itself: issue of an admit card does not confirm your eligibility. The commission decides eligibility separately, and biometric thumb impression or iris capture may be taken at the centre. Full book rules are on the open book exam page.

How to prepare while you wait

Candidates have been waiting since February. The three things worth doing in this window are not revision tips, they are things that only work if done early.

Fix your three books now. The open book rule only pays if you can open the right page in seconds, and that familiarity takes months. Since you cannot write an index inside the cover, build one on a separate sheet at home and memorise it.

Get your certificates in order. Caste or EWS certificate, permanent residence certificate, matric certificate, and where relevant a disability certificate confirmed by a government medical college. These take time at the block office, and every one of them must be dated on or before the last date of application. Check your application printout against what you physically hold.

Practise the marking, not just the syllabus. Four marks for a correct answer and one off for a wrong one, over 150 questions in 135 minutes. That is a different risk profile from SSC, and the only way to find your guessing threshold is to take full papers under a clock.

What kind of questions to expect

This comes from the official syllabus, not from anybody's prediction. The paper is one General Knowledge paper with three sections.

  • General Studies. Current affairs of the awards, sports, books, capitals and currency type, plus Indian history, culture, geography, the Constitution, Panchayati Raj, five year plans, and Bihar's contribution to the national movement. The notification says questions may be asked with special reference to Bihar.
  • General Science and Mathematics. Physics, chemistry, biology and geography, all at matric level. Maths covers number system, decimals and fractions, percentage, ratio and proportion, average, interest, and profit and loss. Nothing beyond arithmetic.
  • Mental Ability. Verbal and non-verbal: analogy, similarities and differences, space visualisation, problem solving, analysis, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, number series, coding and decoding.

We do not reproduce actual previous year questions anywhere on this site, in line with the Public Examinations Act 2024. What is shown above is the topic structure, which is what you can plan from.

What level will the questions be?

SectionLevelQuestion count
General StudiesGeneral awareness with Bihar focusNot announced
General Science and MathsMatric, Class 10Not announced
Mental AbilityVerbal and non-verbalNot announced
TotalOne paper, 135 minutes, +4 and -1150 questions, 600 marks

That last column is deliberate. BSSC has published only the total of 150 questions. Any site giving you 50 questions per section has filled in a number the commission never released, and planning your section strategy around an invented split is a real risk.

On difficulty, one honest expectation rather than a claim: because the paper is open book, straight recall questions are less useful to the examiner than questions needing comprehension and application. Prepare for understanding rather than memorising, and treat that as a reasonable expectation, not a confirmed fact.

The ten days after the admit card arrives

  • Download it the day it releases and print two copies. Servers get slow near the exam.
  • Check name, date of birth, category and photograph against your application. Report any error to the commission immediately.
  • Visit or map your centre before exam day if it is in an unfamiliar town.
  • Go through all three books page by page and remove any stray note or loose paper.
  • Take at least three full length mocks with your actual books and a lookup limit.
  • Remember the exam may be computer based or offline. The notification allows both, so practise on both.
  • If the volume is high the exam may run in multiple shifts with normalisation applied, which means your raw score is not the whole story.

ExamAtlas has free bilingual BSSC Inter Level mock tests on the exact 150 question pattern with +4 and -1 marking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Has the BSSC Inter Level admit card been released?

No. As of September 2026 no admit card has been released for Advertisement 02/23(A), and no prelims date notice appears on the BSSC notice board.

When will the BSSC Inter Level admit card come?

BSSC has not announced a date. In previous cycles the admit card has come about one to two weeks after the exam date is fixed, but the exam date itself has not been announced yet, and the commission was still tendering for the agency to conduct the test as of late August 2026.

How will I download the admit card?

Through bssc.bihar.gov.in using your registration number with date of birth or password, which is how the commission has issued admit cards in earlier cycles. The exact process will be stated in the release notice.

What documents do I need on exam day?

The printed admit card, an original photo identity document, and your three textbooks with your name and roll number written on each. Phones, smartwatches, calculators, guides, photocopies and handwritten notes are not allowed.

How many questions come from each section?

BSSC has not announced a section-wise split. Only the total of 150 questions and 600 marks is confirmed.

Does getting an admit card mean I am eligible?

No. The notification states that issue of an admit card does not by itself confirm a candidate's claim to eligibility. The commission decides eligibility separately, and it is finally checked at document verification.

Final word

The hardest part of this recruitment has not been the paper. It has been seven months of waiting with no date, which is long enough for most people to stop studying without deciding to.

Use the next stretch on the two things that cannot be done quickly later: learning your three books well enough to navigate them under a clock, and getting every certificate correct and correctly dated. Both take weeks. Neither can be done in the gap between the admit card and the exam. Check the official notice board yourself rather than waiting for a forward, and keep going.
