BSSC Inter Level Exam Date 2026: Prelims Status, Verified

The BSSC Inter Level prelims date has not been announced. Not in June, not in July, not in August, and not as of September 2026. Applications closed on 16 February 2026, and seven months later there is still no exam date notice for Advertisement 02/23(A) on the commission's notice board.

Several websites are running headlines saying the date is out. This page explains what those headlines are actually pointing at, shows what the commission's own notice board says about where this recruitment stands, and tells you how to check the status yourself instead of relying on a forward.

What the calendar said, and what happened

BSSC published an exam calendar on 22 February 2026, six days after the application window finally closed. It placed the 2nd Inter Level preliminary examination in the June to July 2026 window and the main examination around September 2026. Some reports carried the window as July to August.

An exam calendar is a planning document, not a date notice. It gives a month range so candidates can plan, and it carries no roll numbers, no centres and no binding commitment. All of those windows have now passed with no exam held.

Why "exam date out" headlines keep appearing

Run the search and you will see OUT in several titles. Open those pages and the body text says "expected", "tentative" or "will be announced", almost always tracing back to the same February 2026 calendar.

One widely read aggregator offers a link labelled "Download BSSC Inter Level Exam Date" which actually opens a printing tender notice from the commission's site. Another was still listing the vacancy as 25,311 in its headline while quoting 26,426 in the text.

The pattern is straightforward. "Out" gets the click, and the correction sits three paragraphs down where fewer people read. Take the title as a marketing decision and read the body before you plan anything around it.

What the commission's notice board actually shows

This is the part worth your attention, because it is factual and almost nobody is reporting it.

Going through the BSSC notice board, there is no entry against Advertisement 02/23 or 02/23(A) for months. What is there instead is a run of procurement notices:

DateNotice
19 March 2026NIT for IRIS capturing and facial recognition
22 April 2026NIT for a software solution for creation and integration of the recruitment website
1 July 2026Selection of agency for post examination and result processing
29 July 2026RFP for selection of agency for conducting end to end computer based tests
27 August 2026Date extension for that same CBT agency selection

Read that last row again. As of late August 2026, BSSC had not finalised the agency that will actually conduct its computer based examinations, and the deadline for that selection had just been pushed further out.

We are not turning this into a prediction. The commission has not said when the tender closes or when the exam follows, and any month you see quoted is somebody's guess. What this does tell you is that the delay has a visible cause sitting on the official website, and that a date notice normally comes after an agency is in place, not before.

How to check the status yourself

  1. Go to bssc.bihar.gov.in directly. Type it, do not follow a forwarded link.
  2. Open the notice board or advertisement section.
  3. Look for the advertisement number 02/23 (A) in the advertisement column. Notices are listed by date with the advertisement number against each.
  4. If there is no 02/23(A) row, there is no news, whatever a YouTube thumbnail says.

Treat a date as official only when it is on that board. A screenshot with a commission letterhead proves nothing, and circulating dates on social media are not official until the notice board carries them. The notification itself is the authority on this.

What happens once the date is announced

  • The prelims date notice appears on the notice board with the advertisement number.
  • The admit card follows, historically about one to two weeks before the exam.
  • Because more than 40,000 applications were received, the prelims will be held. If the volume is high it may run in multiple shifts with normalisation applied to results.
  • The exam may be conducted in computer based or offline mode. The notification allows both.
  • Candidates equal to five times the category-wise vacancies go through to the Mains, for which a separate advertisement will be published.

Admit card details are on the admit card page, and the full paper structure is on the exam pattern page.

What to do with the waiting period

Seven months is long enough that a lot of candidates have quietly stopped preparing. If that is you, the useful thing is not motivation, it is picking work that does not depend on knowing the date.

Choose your three books and learn them. The prelims is an open book exam and the advantage only exists if you can find a page in seconds, which takes months of use.

Finish the maths section properly. It stops at arithmetic, ten topics, no algebra or geometry. It is the most finite part of the syllabus and the fastest to convert into marks.

Get your certificates corrected now. Every one must be dated on or before the last date of application, and the block office does not move quickly.

And practise with the real marking. Four marks correct, one off for wrong, 150 questions in 135 minutes. ExamAtlas has free bilingual BSSC Inter Level mock tests on exactly that pattern.

Frequently Asked Questions

Has the BSSC Inter Level exam date been announced?

No. As of September 2026 there is no prelims date notice for Advertisement 02/23(A) on the BSSC notice board. The February 2026 exam calendar had indicated June to July 2026, and that window passed without the exam being held.

Why is the BSSC Inter Level exam delayed?

The commission has not issued a reason. What its notice board shows is that as of 27 August 2026 the tender to select an agency for conducting end to end computer based tests was still open, with its date extended. Related tenders for result processing and IRIS capturing are also in progress.

Some websites say the exam date is out. Are they right?

Check the body text rather than the headline. Those pages generally say "expected" or "tentative" and point back to the February 2026 exam calendar window, which has already passed. No date notice has appeared on the official notice board.

When will the admit card release?

BSSC has not announced it. In earlier cycles the admit card has come about one to two weeks after the exam date is fixed, but the date itself is still pending.

Will the exam be held in one shift?

Not necessarily. The notification says that if a large number of applications is received, the prelims may be conducted in more than one phase, with a normalisation process applied while preparing the result.

Where should I check for the official date?

The notice board at bssc.bihar.gov.in, looking for advertisement number 02/23 (A). The notification states that a date circulating elsewhere is not official until it appears there.

Final word

Nobody enjoys a page that says "no news", but the alternative on offer right now is a page that invents a month and gets thousands of candidates to plan around it.

Here is the practical position. The date is pending, the commission is visibly still arranging the machinery to run the exam, and when the notice does come the admit card has historically followed within one to two weeks. That is not enough time to start preparing, which makes the months before the announcement the ones that decide this exam. Check the official board yourself every couple of weeks, and use the gap.
