Last Updated: 7 October 2026

If you appeared in the RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 on 17 September 2026, the waiting stage has begun. The RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 result 2026 will decide who goes on to the typing test, document verification and medical for 3,058 undergraduate posts under CEN 07/2025. RRB has not announced a result date, so this page lays out what has happened, what the past cycles suggest, and what to do in the meantime.

When Will the RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 Result 2026 Come?

RRB has not given an official date for the RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 result 2026. Based on past cycles, where results came 34 to 48 days after CBT-2, the result is most likely between late October and early November 2026. It will be published RRB-wise on regional RRB websites.

Why We Expect the Result in Late October or Early November

RRB does not pre-announce result dates, but its recent gaps between CBT-2 and result are a fair guide:

  • Graduate CEN 06/2025: CBT-2 on 10 July 2026, result on 27 August 2026, a gap of 48 days.
  • Previous UG cycle, CEN 06/2024: CBT-2 on 20 December 2025, result around 23 January 2026, a gap of about 34 days.

Applying 34 to 48 days to 17 September gives roughly 21 October to 4 November 2026. Some sites quote 24 October as a fixed date; there is no official basis for that. If the result has not come by mid-November, that is still within normal RRB variation, so do not panic.

RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 Answer Key: What Happened

RRB released the provisional answer key and response sheets on 24 September 2026. Candidates could raise objections until 30 September 2026 at a fee of ₹50 per question plus bank charges, refunded (minus bank charges) for objections found valid.

If you checked your response sheet, you already have your raw score: +1 for each right answer and minus 1/3 for each wrong one, out of 120. If CBT-2 ran in more than one shift, RRB normalises the scores, so your final marks can be a little higher or lower than your raw score.

How Many Candidates Are Competing in CBT-2?

About 46,000 candidates were shortlisted for UG CBT-2 after the CBT-1 result (reports put the figure between 45,898 and 45,998). That is roughly 15 candidates for each of the 3,058 posts. Around 63 lakh applications had been reported for this CEN, so everyone who sat CBT-2 has already cleared a very large filter.

From here, the odds are much better than at CBT-1, but the margins are thin. In a row with a few dozen seats, half a mark can separate the last selected candidate from the next one. That is why the normalised score, not the raw score from your response sheet, is what finally counts.

How to Check the RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 Result 2026

  1. Open the website of the RRB you applied to (for example RRB Patna, Muzaffarpur, Ranchi or Kolkata), or rrb.indianrailways.gov.in for the list of RRB sites.
  2. Go to the CEN 07/2025 (NTPC Under Graduate) section and open the CBT-2 result notice.
  3. Open the PDF of roll numbers shortlisted for the next stage and search your roll number (Ctrl+F).
  4. Check the cut-off table in the same PDF for your post code and category.
  5. Download your scorecard from the link RRB activates, usually a day or two after the result.

Note that the result PDF lists only shortlisted candidates. If your roll number is missing, check the scorecard for your normalised marks before assuming anything.

What Comes After the CBT-2 Result?

The UG posts under CEN 07/2025 do not have an aptitude test (CBAT). The path depends on your post:

  • Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist: a computer-based typing skill test (CBTST). Speed required: 30 words per minute in English or 25 in Hindi. It is qualifying only.
  • Commercial cum Ticket Clerk and Trains Clerk: straight to document verification after CBT-2.
  • Everyone selected: document verification and medical examination as per the post's medical standard.

Final merit is based on CBT-2 normalised marks. The full process, typing test rules and DV checklist are in our RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 complete guide.

What to Do While You Wait

  • If you applied for a typist post: practise typing 20 minutes daily now. The CBTST usually comes within weeks of the result.
  • Gather DV documents: 10th and 12th certificates, caste or EWS certificate in the central format, and ID proof. Fix any name or date mismatch now.
  • Fill the 2026 forms: the new UG notification CEN 07/2026 (1,688 posts) opens on 15 October, and the Graduate CEN 06/2026 (3,477 posts) from 8 October. Do not skip them while waiting for this result; a selection is not final until DV and medical are cleared.
