Current Affairs 9 October 2026: Daily Current Affairs for SSC, Railway, Banking, BPSC, BSSC, JSSC and TET

Three things in the last 24 hours will show up in a question paper. The RBI pushed the repo rate up to 5.5% and told the market that cuts are off the table. Below are 22 facts from 8 and 9 October 2026, each with an exam tag, plus four revision tables and a one-liner sheet you can read on the bus. Every figure here came from a PIB release, an RBI statement, a Nobel Foundation announcement or a mainstream daily. Appointments and Office-Holders to Revise

Two of these three names were directly in the news this week. Learn them as a block, because banking and SSC papers ask them as one-liners.

One Honest Caveat Before You Memorise This

Two items on this page are not fully settled. The World Post Day theme came through a DD News announcement rather than a Department of Posts circular, and the Jharkhand High Court's 7 October order on the JPSC and JSSC cancellations was not published officially when this went out. Both are marked (verify). Do not quote either in a Mains answer until the official text appears.

One more practical point. The BPSC 72nd postponement is the second one in this cycle, and a second postponement usually means the new date lands close to another state exam. Keep your BSSC and Bihar Police preparation running in parallel instead of pausing it.
