Border Area and Naxal Affected Area Cut-Offs

Within a state, vacancies are further reserved for candidates of border districts and Naxal or militancy affected districts, and SSC publishes separate cut-offs for General area, Border area and Naxal or militancy affected area.

The order of consideration: Naxal or militancy affected area candidates are considered first against those vacancies, then General area. Border area candidates first against border vacancies, then General area. A candidate belonging to both goes Naxal first, border second, General third.

In practice, the district certificate is worth real marks. The area pool is smaller and usually closes lower than the General pool of the same state. A Jharkhand or Chhattisgarh candidate who does not attach the certificate is choosing the hardest pool available.

What Happens After the Result: PET/PST in November

Shortlisted candidates now face the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test, conducted by the CAPFs with CRPF as the nodal force, expected in November 2026. Admit cards for the physical stage come through the CRPF recruitment channel linked from the result notice, not the usual SSC exam admit card flow.
