SSC GD Result 2026 Out: 1,97,408 Shortlisted for PET/PST, Cut Off and Merit List PDF

SSC declared the Constable (GD) Examination 2026 result on 12 October 2026, and the cut-off came out with it. Out of 21,56,776 candidates who appeared in the Computer Based Examination held between 27 April and 30 May 2026, 1,97,408 have been provisionally shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test.

This page covers the four result lists on ssc.gov.in, how to find your roll number, the published SSF cut-off figures, what the shortlist numbers mean for the physical stage, and what you should be doing in the next four weeks whether your roll number is in the PDF or not.

SSC GD Result 2026 PDF: What Came Out on 12 October

The Commission did not release individual scorecards on result day. What went up on ssc.gov.in is the result write-up plus four merit list PDFs, and the cut-off details sit inside the write-up annexures.

One thing most candidates miss: the SSF male shortlist is handled separately in the write-up with its own category-wise cut-off table, because SSF vacancies are All-India rather than state-wise.

How to Check Your Roll Number

  1. Open the Result section on ssc.gov.in.
  2. Find the notice for Constable (GD) Examination, 2026.
  3. Download List 1 if you are a female candidate, List 2 if you are a male candidate (non-SSF).
  4. Press Ctrl + F (or the search icon on mobile PDF viewers) and type your roll number.
  5. If it appears, save the PDF. You will want it during PET/PST documentation.

The lists carry roll numbers, not names in searchable order, so search by roll number first. If your roll number is missing from Lists 1 and 2, check List 3 before assuming failure. A withheld result is a pending matter, not a rejection.

The Shortlist in Numbers

Candidate groupShortlisted for PET/PST
Female candidates15,782
Male candidates (forces other than SSF)1,81,251
Male candidates (SSF)375
Total1,97,408

Now put that against the vacancy count. The 2026 cycle has 25,487 posts, so roughly 7.7 shortlisted candidates are competing for every seat at the physical stage. In the 2025 cycle, SSC shortlisted 3,94,121 candidates for 53,690 posts, a ratio of about 7.3. The ratio barely moved, but the absolute shortlist is half of last cycle because the vacancy count is half.

The force split from the 2026 notification is worth keeping in front of you while you wait for PET dates: CISF 14,595, CRPF 5,490, SSB 1,764, Assam Rifles 1,706, ITBP 1,293, BSF 616 and SSF 23. Nearly 57% of the seats sit in CISF alone. Force duties and preference order are in SSC GD Posts and Forces.

SSC GD Cut Off 2026

The cut-off is not one number. It varies by state or UT, category, gender, area type (General, Border, Naxal or militancy affected) and force. The state-wise figures sit in the annexures of the official result write-up, and you should read your own state’s row there rather than trusting a screenshot forwarded on Telegram.

The one table SSC published as a clean All-India figure is the male SSF cut-off:

CategoryCut-off marksCandidates shortlisted
UR146.17817150
OBC145.5576690
EWS144.2065830
SC140.9541445
ST135.0315530
ESM100.5209930
Total375

Read those UR and OBC figures twice. Out of 160 marks, the SSF line closed above 145 for both. SSF had only 23 vacancies against an All-India pool, which is why it behaves like the toughest line in the exam. State-wise lines for the bigger forces will sit lower, but the 2026 cycle had half the vacancies of 2025 with similar participation, so expect the heavy states (Rajasthan, Haryana, UP, Bihar) to close higher than the 2025 final figures.

Minimum qualifying marks for shortlisting, applied before adding NCC bonus:

CategoryMinimum qualifying
UR30%
OBC / EWS25%
SC / ST / ESM20%

Remember that merit runs on normalised marks, not raw marks, and SSC publishes cut-offs to five decimal places. Those decimals decide ties. The full mechanics are in SSC GD Normalisation, and the previous-cycle state-wise tables are compiled in SSC GD Cut Off and on the ExamAtlas SSC GD cut-off page.

Scorecard and Marks

Individual scorecards with section-wise normalised marks usually come a few days to a couple of weeks after the result PDFs, through candidate login on ssc.gov.in. The final answer key with question paper and response sheet also opens for a limited window around the same time. Download everything while the window is live. SSC removes these links, and candidates ask for them in December when nothing can be done.

What Happens Next: PET/PST in November

Shortlisted candidates move to the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test, conducted by the CAPFs with CRPF as the nodal force, expected in November 2026. Admit cards for the physical stage come from the CRPF side, not the usual SSC exam admit card flow, so watch both ssc.gov.in and the recruitment section linked from the result notice.

Quick recap of the standards:

  • PET race: 5 km in 24 minutes for male candidates, 1.6 km in 8 minutes 30 seconds for female candidates, with separate Ladakh-region standards. Ex-servicemen skip PET but appear for PST.
  • PST: height 170 cm for men and 157 cm for women as the general standard, chest 80 cm with 5 cm expansion for men, with relaxations for ST candidates and notified hill and North-East categories.
  • Weight: after the corrigendum of 29 April 2026, the PST board does not reject on weight. Weight moves to the medical examination and is assessed through BMI, with 18 to 25 as the normal range.

PET and PST are qualifying. They add nothing to your merit, but they remove people from it every single cycle. In 2025, 3,94,121 reached the physical stage and only 95,575 cleared it. That is a 76% drop at a stage with no written paper. The complete tables and a running plan are in SSC GD Physical Test, and the medical rules in SSC GD Medical Standards.

One more thing SSC says plainly in the notification and repeats every cycle: PET, PST and the medicals are the sole responsibility of the CAPFs. Writing to SSC against a physical-stage decision is a wasted month. Appeals run through the CAPF board itself.

If Your Roll Number Is in the List: A 4-Week Plan

  1. Start running today, not after the admit card. If 5 km in 24 minutes feels far, you need every one of these four weeks. Run on alternate days, build from 3 km, and do at least two timed full-distance runs before the actual test.
  2. Get your documents in one folder now. Class 10 certificate, category certificate in the current format, domicile, and the district certificate if you are claiming a Border or Naxal-affected area seat. Area certificates filed wrong cost real selections every cycle.
  3. Sort your NCC certificate if you hold one. The bonus is added before merit, and in a five-decimal exam it changes outcomes.
  4. Do not gamble on the medical. Check the tattoo rule (left forearm or back of hand, under one-fourth of the part), get an eye check for the 6/6 and 6/9 unaided standard, and bring BMI inside 18 to 25 if it is drifting.

If Your Roll Number Is Not in the List

The honest version first: with 25,487 seats and a shortlist ratio near 7.7 per seat, the 2026 line was always going to be harsh. A miss here is about the vacancy math as much as your preparation.

The practical version: the SSC GD 2027 notification is expected around late October 2026 as per the SSC calendar, with the CBE in early 2027. That is one cycle, a few months away, and your syllabus does not change. The gap between a 115-mark attempt and a 135-mark attempt is usually 10 to 12 extra correct questions, which is a mocks-and-PYQs problem, not a talent problem. The free SSC GD mock test series on ExamAtlas runs on the exact 80-question pattern with negative marking, and the AI analytics show topic-wise accuracy after every mock, which is where those 10 questions hide. The daily current affairs practice set covers the GK section most candidates leave for the last month. The full 2027 picture is in the SSC GD complete guide.

FAQs

Is the SSC GD Result 2026 declared?

Yes. SSC declared the Constable (GD) 2026 CBE result on 12 October 2026 on ssc.gov.in, along with the cut-off details in the result write-up. A total of 1,97,408 candidates have been provisionally shortlisted for PET/PST out of 21,56,776 who appeared.

How many candidates qualified for SSC GD PET/PST 2026?

1,97,408 candidates in total: 15,782 female candidates, 1,81,251 male candidates against vacancies in forces other than SSF, and 375 male candidates for SSF. They now face PET/PST for 25,487 vacancies, roughly 7.7 candidates per seat.

What is the SSC GD cut off 2026?

The cut-off varies by state, category, gender, area and force, and the detailed figures are in the annexures of the official result write-up. The published All-India male SSF line closed at 146.17817 for UR and 145.55766 for OBC out of 160 marks.

Where do I download the SSC GD merit list PDF?

On ssc.gov.in under the Result section, in the Constable (GD) Examination 2026 notice. List 1 is for female candidates and List 2 for male candidates in forces other than SSF. Search the PDF with your roll number using Ctrl + F.

When is the SSC GD physical test 2026?

PET/PST is expected in November 2026, conducted by the CAPFs with CRPF as the nodal force. Admit cards for the physical stage will be issued separately. Exact centre-wise dates come through the CRPF recruitment channel linked from the result notice.

What if my result is withheld in List 3?

A withheld result means a pending verification or a candidature issue, not a final rejection. Follow the instructions in the result write-up for withheld cases and respond within the stated window. Do not assume the matter resolves itself.

Final Word

The headline is simple: result out on 12 October, 1,97,408 in, PET/PST in November with CRPF running it. The part that actually decides selections now is not in any PDF. It is whether a shortlisted candidate spends these four weeks running and fixing documents, because the 2025 cycle dropped three out of four candidates at the physical stage.

One caveat worth repeating: state-wise cut-offs in the annexures are the only figures that matter for your situation. Ignore forwarded screenshots. And if this cycle did not go your way, the 2027 notification is weeks away. The free SSC GD mock test series on ExamAtlas runs on the real 80-question pattern, which is a better use of this month than refreshing the result page.
