Bihar-Jharkhand Special

This is the section BPSC, BSSC, Bihar Police, JSSC, JPSC and TET aspirants should treat as compulsory. State papers lift straight from weeks like this one.

  • Bihar signed an MoU with the Centre in New Delhi on 3 November 2026 for the Nadi Sanjeevani initiative, which links river desilting to highway construction. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari were present. Exam tag: BPSC / BSSC / Bihar Police
  • Under Nadi Sanjeevani, about 83.5 million cubic metres of river silt will go into 27 road projects in Bihar, of which 24.3 million cubic metres is to be supplied free for 16 ongoing National Highway projects. NHAI will extract the silt and run the scheme. Exam tag: BPSC / BSSC
  • Gadkari put NHAI's current Bihar portfolio at 39 projects covering about 1,561 km worth Rs 58,340 crore, plus 11 proposed projects of about 1,982 km worth Rs 1,85,200 crore. Choudhary said silt has piled up to 10 metres deep in several rivers. Exam tag: BPSC / BSSC
  • Bihar is pushing four road projects worth roughly Rs 49,751 crore, all cleared by PPPAC and awaiting CCEA approval: the Patna-Purnia four-lane Greenfield Expressway (Rs 31,987 crore), the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata six-lane Greenfield Highway (Rs 7,331 crore), the Patna elevated and service road package (Rs 8,455 crore) and a two-lane Gandak bridge from Manua Pul near Bettiah to Tiwari Patti in Uttar Pradesh (Rs 1,977 crore). • Jharkhand received Rs 3,660 crore in the second additional devolution instalment released on 31 October 2026, ranking 12th of 28 states with about 3.36% of the pool. Bihar got Rs 10,845 crore. The first additional instalment, on 1 August 2026, was also Rs 3,660 crore for Jharkhand. Exam tag: JSSC / JPSC / BPSC
  • Jharkhand has a special two-day assembly session planned for 25 and 26 November 2026 on the MMDR Amendment Act 2026, while the state continues to press a claim of about Rs 1.36 lakh crore in mineral dues. Exam tag: JSSC / JPSC

One honest caveat on this section. Most of the Bihar and Jharkhand figures above come from news reports and state press coverage, not from a signed gazette notification I could open. The MoU amounts and the road project costs are the ones to re-check on the official site before you write them into a revision notebook as exact.

Important Days

  • 3 November is the International Day for Biosphere Reserves, declared by UNESCO at its 41st General Conference in 2021 under Resolution 37 and first observed in 2022.
