Daily Current Affairs 11 October 2026: 20 Exam-Ready Facts for SSC, BPSC, BSSC, JSSC

Nobel week closed on 9 October with the Peace Prize going to an 85-year-old South African judge, and the RBI turned its rate cycle around two days before that. Both land in your General Awareness paper. This digest covers the last 24 hours up to the morning of 11 October 2026, IST.

Twenty facts, one sentence each, with the exam each one matters for, plus four quick-revision tables. Read them once properly, then go and take the 15-question quiz on ExamAtlas built from exactly this set. If you score under 11 there, come back and read the section you lost marks in rather than the whole page.

National

MoSPI also released its Strategy for Environmental-Economic Accounts in India: 2026-2030, which now covers forests, minerals, soil, water, carbon stock and biodiversity.

Bihar and Jharkhand Special

Three items here that state commissions tend to pick up. Rajgir and Deoghar both show up in state GK papers more often than aspirants expect.

  • Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan visited a Sainya Sampark Mela at Deoghar, Jharkhand, and addressed the second convocation of AIIMS Deoghar on 10 October 2026, saying a developed India is possible only when every state and village develops together. (JSSC / JPSC)
  • Rajgir Sports Complex in Nalanda, Bihar, will host an India versus New Zealand Under-20 Rugby Sevens series from 22 to 28 October 2026, with four matches on 27 October against the New Zealand sides Tama Toa (men) and Hine Toa (women), marking 100 years of India-New Zealand sports cooperation. (BPSC / BSSC / Bihar Police)
  • BPSC TRE 4.0 under Advertisement No. 15/2026 now carries 33,320 teacher vacancies, revised up from 32,388, with Classes 11-12 taking the largest slice at 16,540 and the online window closing 26 October 2026. (BPSC / TET)

On the recruitment side, BSSC Inter Level vacancies have been raised to 26,426 from 24,492, and the BSUSC Bihar Assistant Professor advertisement is out for 3,687 posts.

One honest caveat on the Bihar numbers. Vacancy totals in TRE and BSSC cycles have been revised mid-process before, so treat 33,320 and 26,426 as the figures as of 11 October and check bpsc.bihar.gov.in and bssc.bihar.gov.in before you quote them in an interview.

Important Days

  • 11 October is the International Day of the Girl Child, with the 2026 theme "End child marriage and invest in girls' rights", the day having been declared by UN General Assembly Resolution 66/170 on 19 December 2011. (All exams)
  • 10 October was World Mental Health Day, WHO theme "Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change", and India's Tele-MANAS helpline 14416, launched on 10 October 2022, has crossed 47.75 lakh calls across 53 centres. (All exams)

How to use this in your revision

Three of today's facts are near-certain one-markers: the repo rate at 5.50%, Navi Pillay for the Peace Prize, and India at 38th in the Global Innovation Index. Write those on the same flashcard, because paper-setters like pairing a rate with a rank.

For Bihar and Jharkhand aspirants the Rajgir rugby series is the sleeper. Rajgir is already in state GK through the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, and a second international event there in the same year makes it a likely BPSC or BSSC one-liner. Pair it with Deoghar and AIIMS Deoghar for the Jharkhand side.

One thing today's set does not give you is a confirmed Nobel in Economic Sciences. That announcement is due on 12 October 2026, so leave a blank line in your Nobel table and fill it tomorrow rather than guessing a name now. ExamAtlas has free exam-specific mocks with AI analytics that show your topic-wise accuracy, which is the fastest way to find out whether your weak spot is appointments or indexes.
