Current Affairs 12 September 2026: Top 20 Facts and Exam Tables

In the last 24 hours the FASTag "One Tag" facility went live at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, ISRO hot-tested a 220 kN CE20 cryogenic engine at Mahendragiri, and a Tamil orator who anchored more than 12,000 pattimandrams passed away in Madurai. Three stories, three different papers.

This page covers 11 to 12 September 2026 only. Each fact carries the exam it matters for, so you can skip what your paper never asks. Where a report was thin, you will see a (verify) tag instead of a confident-sounding guess.

An honest caveat here. No new global index was published in this 24-hour window, so do not expect an index question from today's news. The Global Innovation Index 2026 from WIPO is scheduled for 29 September 2026, and that is the one to watch.

What to do with this list

Write the numbers down by hand. ₹20,804 crore, 220 kN, 14 digits, 68.35 m. Numbers are what examiners swap between options, and reading them once does almost nothing for recall.

One caution before you memorise the Bihar and Jharkhand exam-desk lines. Notification dates shift, and the BPSC 72nd prelims has already moved once this year. Treat those two entries as pointers and open bpsc.bihar.gov.in or jssc.nic.in before you plan anything around them.

Today's 15 practice questions, each with a full concept explanation, sit in a separate set on ExamAtlas. Score 12 or more there and your revision is working. Below 9, re-read the National and Bihar-Jharkhand sections before tomorrow.
