This topic closes the General Awareness block and usually contributes 1 to 2 questions. Static general knowledge is the reliable half and should be finished early; current affairs is the volatile half and should be built in a narrow window close to the exam rather than collected all year.

Static facts never change, so every mark here is permanent. Learn the national symbols carefully, because one of them carries a trap.

The last row is the trap. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has stated in reply to an RTI that no sport has been declared the national game of India, because the aim is to promote all popular disciplines. Hockey is widely believed to hold that status but does not officially. If a question offers hockey and none of these, read the options carefully.

Building a Current Affairs Window
Do not try to memorise a whole year. Work backwards from the exam and build a narrow, revisable set.
- Fix a window of roughly six to twelve months before the paper and stay inside it.
- Keep one page per month, not a notebook per month.
- Give Bihar its own column — state schemes, appointments, awards and events are asked more often than national trivia in a BPSC paper.

The national-game question is the classic elimination trap in this topic.
