Missing Term
A missing term question places the gap in the middle rather than at the end, which is an advantage: you can work forwards from the term before and backwards from the term after, and the two must agree. That double check makes these questions more reliable than next-term questions.

If the two approaches disagree, your rule is wrong. This is a genuine verification step, which next-term questions do not offer, so never guess a missing term without checking it against the following term.

Solved examples
Example 1. Find the missing term: 7, 14, 28, ?, 112. Each term doubles, so the missing one is 56. Checking, 56 doubled is 112, so the answer is 56.
Example 2. Find the missing term: 4, 9, 19, ?, 79. Each term is twice the previous plus 1, giving 39. Checking, 39 doubled plus 1 is 79, so the answer is 39.
Example 3. Find the missing term: 3, 8, 15, ?, 35. The terms are one less than 4, 9, 16 and 36, so the missing one is 25 minus 1 = 24.
Example 4. Find the missing letter: C, F, ?, L, O. The positions rise by 3, so the missing position is 9, which is I.
Example 5. Find the missing term: 100, 96, 88, ?, 56. The differences are minus 4, 8 and then 16, so the missing term is 88 minus 16 = 72, and checking, 72 minus 16 is 56. The answer is 72.

Missing term वाले सवाल में खाली जगह अंत में नहीं, बीच में होती है, और यह फ़ायदे की बात है: तुम खाली जगह से पहले वाले पद से आगे की ओर और बाद वाले पद से पीछे की ओर चल सकते हो, और दोनों का उत्तर मिलना चाहिए। यही दोहरी जाँच इन सवालों को next term वाले सवालों से ज़्यादा भरोसेमंद बनाती है।
