Provisional Figures and Today's Revision Habit
A few of today's numbers can still change. The 7.8% GDP growth for April-June is an estimate that gets revised when later data comes in. Likewise, the IMF figures are forecasts, not results. SEBI's ₹50,000 fine is still a proposal, so a question should say "proposed", not "imposed". For PM GatiShakti, write the official PIB figure (396 projects, ₹18.66 lakh crore, as of 11 August 2026) in your notes and keep the newer "over 400 projects, ₹20.23 lakh crore" count beside it until an official release confirms it.
None of today's facts is marked (verify). Still, the Bihar and Jharkhand items, the IL&FS appointment and the Railways freight figures come from newspaper reports, and I could not find an official release for them yet. Look out for the state government's or ministry's release in the next day or two. If a figure changes, correct your notes.
Here is a habit for today: make a three-column page with the headings Old, New and Who said it. Fill it in for the IMF revision, Samarthak's date and place, and the Railways freight numbers. Close the post and fill the page from memory before you sleep, then check it. If you do this for a week, you will see the old and new figures stick, and those are what the paper asks.
