- 1. India and MERCOSUR signed the First Additional Protocol on electronic Certificates of Origin on 15 September 2026. The protocol amends Article 16 of Annex III of the 2004 India-MERCOSUR Preferential Trade Agreement so that an electronic Certificate of Origin now carries the same legal weight as a paper one.
