Two numbers set the tone for today. India's GDP grew 7.8% in the April to June quarter of FY27, and on the same evening the Centre notified a ₹1,27,500 crore Semicon 2.0 scheme. Both will land in SSC GK, Banking GA and BPSC Prelims within weeks.

- The Centre notified the Semicon 2.0 scheme on 31 August 2026 with an outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore, run by the India Semiconductor Mission under MeitY. Exam tag: All exams

Economy and Banking
- India's real GDP grew 7.8% in Q1 of FY27 (April to June 2026), beating the RBI's own forecast, with nominal growth crossing 10%. Exam tag: Banking / SSC
- The RBI Monetary Policy Committee, chaired by Governor Sanjay Malhotra, held the repo rate at 5.25% in its August 2026 meeting with a unanimous vote and kept the stance neutral. Exam tag: Banking

Bihar and Jharkhand Special
- Bihar and Jharkhand signed the Sone river water sharing agreement on 31 August 2026 in New Delhi, ending a dispute that had run since the states split in 2000. Exam tag: BPSC / BSSC / JSSC / JPSC
- The MoU was signed by Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary and Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah presiding and Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil present. Exam tag: BPSC / JPSC

How to use today's list
Do not memorise all 25 points flat. Split them by paper. If you are writing SSC CGL or a Railway CBT, the safe bets are Semicon 2.0, the Asian Games contingent number, the Magsaysay names and the September days. Banking aspirants should hold the repo rate, the GDP figure and the core sector number cold, because GA sections repeat those three shamelessly.
BPSC, BSSC and JSSC candidates get the richest item today. The Sone pact touches geography (Sone is the largest right-bank tributary of the Ganga), polity (interstate water disputes and Article 262), and state administration all at once. Learn the ten districts by name.
One honest caveat. The MAF split reported for Bihar and Jharkhand comes from news agencies, not from a signed text put out by either state. The district list and the signing details are solid. Treat the 5.75 and 2 MAF figures as provisional until the state water resources departments publish the MoU.
Second caveat. No new global index or ranking was released in the last 24 hours, so there is no index table today. If a coaching PDF hands you an "India's rank" item dated 1 September 2026, check the release date before you write it in your notebook.
