- Ganga breaks Patna's flood record. The river stood at 50.57 metres at Gandhi Ghat at 6 AM on 6 September, above the earlier high of 50.52 metres recorded on 21 August. 22.42 lakh people across 12 districts are affected, among them Patna, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Buxar, Samastipur, Munger, Katihar, Lakhisarai and Arwal. Relief work uses 27 SDRF teams, 10 NDRF teams, 1,429 boats and 190 community kitchens. The Gandak, Kosi, Budhi Gandak, Punpun, Bagmati and Ghaghra are also above danger level. - Bihar Cabinet clears 27 proposals. On 2 September the Cabinet extended the Student Credit Card Scheme to 2030-31, keeping education loans of up to ₹4 lakh. - Jharkhand High Court stays the JSSC CGL cancellation. The state had cancelled 39 recruitment exams and postponed 6 over alleged irregularities. - Jharkhand runs JH-SAY for ultra-poor families.
