Schemes and Organisations
Organisation questions ask for a headquarters or a founding year, both of which are fixed. The United Nations was founded on 24 October 1945 with its headquarters in New York, and the specialised agencies are spread across Geneva, Paris, Rome and Vienna.

How to revise current affairs
Current affairs questions change every month, so treat them separately from static general knowledge. Read a monthly compilation rather than daily news, focus on appointments, awards, sports results, summits and government schemes, and revise the last six months in the final week. Do not attempt to memorise everything, since only a few marks turn on it.

Grouping the headquarters by city
Learn the organisations by city rather than one by one. Geneva holds the WHO, the ILO, the WTO and the Red Cross. Washington DC holds the IMF and the World Bank. Vienna holds the IAEA and OPEC. New York holds the United Nations and UNICEF. Grouping this way turns a list of a dozen separate facts into four short clusters, and it also guards against the usual error of placing a Geneva body in Paris.
