Coded Blood Relation
In coded blood relations, symbols replace relationships: a plus might mean father of, a minus might mean sister of. Build the chain by reading the expression from right to left, since each symbol describes how the person on its left relates to the person on its right.
Reading the chain
In A + B, the symbol tells you how A relates to B, not the reverse
Work from the right end of the expression backwards, adding one person to the diagram at a time. Reading left to right forces you to hold unresolved relations in memory, which is where errors appear.

The reverse question type
Some questions state a relation and ask which expression produces it. Take each option in turn and resolve it into a plain relation, stopping the moment an option contradicts the required one. Testing options is faster here than trying to construct the expression from scratch.
Solved examples
Example 1. Using the table, what does P + Q x R mean? P is the father of Q, and Q is the brother of R. Since Q and R are siblings, P is the father of R.
Example 2. What does A - B + C mean? A is the wife of B, and B is the father of C. So A is the mother of C.
Example 3. What does M / N + O mean? M is the sister of N, and N is the father of O. So M is O's father's sister, which makes her O's aunt.
Example 4. What does X + Y / Z mean? X is the father of Y, and Y is the sister of Z. So X is the father of Z.
