Table DI presents data in rows and columns and is the most calculation-friendly of all DI types, because the exact figures sit right in front of you with no reading-off-a-graph error. This makes table sets a priority pick in SBI Clerk: if a paper offers a table set and a graph set, the table is usually the faster and safer bank of marks, so learning to move quickly through a table set is one of the best investments you can make in the Numerical section.
Reading a Table Efficiently
Scan the row and column headers first so you know what each cell means and which totals are given versus which you must compute. Note the units once and trust them for the whole set. Because tables often ask for row totals, column totals or the difference between two cells, identifying where those live before the questions start saves you from re-reading the table on every question.
Common Table Question Types
Expect four recurring types: the total or average across a row or column, the percentage one cell is of another, the ratio between two cells, and the percentage change between two periods. Each maps to a one-line calculation, so once you name the type you already know the operation. Keeping this short menu in mind means you never stare at a table wondering how to begin.

Shortcut: Reuse Running Totals
If an early question makes you compute a row total, write it down, because later questions in the same set almost always need it again. This reuse is the biggest time-saver in table DI and the reason you should never treat the five questions as independent. A total calculated once should serve every question that touches that row.
Solved Example
Example: A table lists sales of 200, 250, 300 and 250 across four branches. The average is (1000 / 4) = 250, and branch three's share of the total is 300 / 1000 = 30%. The total 1000 then answers any further share question instantly.

Handling Missing-Value Tables
A popular SBI Clerk variation leaves some table cells blank and gives you enough information elsewhere to fill them, testing whether you can complete the grid before answering. Read every note attached to the table, because a missing cell is almost always recoverable from a stated total, a given ratio, or a percentage relationship between two rows. Fill the blanks first, treating the completion as step zero, and the actual questions then become ordinary table questions. Candidates who try to answer around the gaps waste time and make errors, whereas those who reconstruct the full table once move through the whole set smoothly. The discipline is the same as with caselets: build the complete data picture before you begin, and every question afterwards is straightforward.
