Approach to RC
Read the questions before the passage. SSC comprehension passages are short and most questions are factual, so knowing what to look for turns a full careful reading into a targeted scan. This single change usually saves 40 seconds per passage without any loss of accuracy.
The method
- Read all the questions attached to the passage first, noting the key nouns in each.
- Skim the passage once, marking where each key noun appears.
- Answer the factual questions directly from those marked lines.
- Leave inference and tone questions for the end, once the passage is familiar.
- Never answer from general knowledge; the passage is the only authority.

What SSC passages look like
SSC CGL passages usually run to 150 to 250 words on a general topic such as science, environment, society or a short narrative. They are not technical, so no background knowledge is needed. Four or five questions are attached to each passage.
Worked approach
Approach 1. If a question asks what the author says about pollution, find the word pollution in the passage and read the sentence around it. The answer is almost always within one sentence either side.
Approach 2. If two options both appear supported, choose the one closer to the passage's own wording. SSC rewards the option that restates the text rather than the one that extends it.
Approach 3. If a passage runs long and the questions are inference-heavy, skip the whole set. Under a 15-minute sectional timer, four minutes on one passage is a bad trade against four one-line grammar questions.
Approach 4. If a question asks which statement is not true according to the passage, check each option against the text one at a time rather than searching for the false one directly. Three confirmations are quicker than one hunt.

तरीका
- सबसे पहले passage से जुड़े सारे questions पढ़ो और हर सवाल के key nouns नोट करो।
- Passage को एक बार skim करो और निशान लगाओ कि हर key noun कहाँ आया है।
- Factual सवालों का जवाब सीधे उन्हीं निशान लगी lines से दो।
- Inference और tone वाले सवाल आख़िर के लिए छोड़ो, जब passage जाना-पहचाना हो जाए।
- General knowledge से कभी जवाब मत दो; passage ही एकमात्र आधार है।

SSC के passages कैसे होते हैं
SSC CGL के passages आमतौर पर 150 से 250 words के होते हैं और विषय सामान्य होता है, जैसे science, environment, समाज या कोई छोटी कहानी। ये technical नहीं होते, इसलिए किसी background knowledge की ज़रूरत नहीं पड़ती। हर passage के साथ चार या पाँच सवाल जुड़े होते हैं।
हल करने का तरीका
Approach 1. अगर सवाल पूछे कि लेखक pollution के बारे में क्या कहता है, तो passage में pollution शब्द ढूँढो और उसके आसपास का वाक्य पढ़ो। जवाब लगभग हमेशा एक वाक्य आगे या एक वाक्य पीछे के अंदर ही मिल जाता है।
Approach 2. अगर दो options दोनों सही लग रहे हों, तो उसे चुनो जो passage के अपने शब्दों के ज़्यादा करीब है। SSC उस option को नंबर देता है जो text को दोहराता है, उसे नहीं जो उससे आगे बढ़ जाता है।
Approach 3. अगर passage लंबा है और सवाल inference वाले ज़्यादा हैं, तो पूरा set छोड़ दो। 15 मिनट की sectional timer में एक passage पर चार मिनट लगाना, चार one-line grammar सवालों के मुकाबले घाटे का सौदा है।
Approach 4. अगर सवाल पूछे कि passage के अनुसार कौन सा कथन सही नहीं है, तो गलत वाले को सीधे ढूँढने के बजाय हर option को एक-एक करके text से मिलाओ। तीन बार पुष्टि करना, एक बार खोजने से तेज़ पड़ता है।
