Noun, Pronoun and Article
Article choice depends on sound, not spelling: an hour but a university. Uncountable nouns such as information and furniture never take a, an or a plural. Pronouns after a preposition take the object form, which is why between you and me is correct and between you and I is not.
Uncountable nouns SSC uses
These words never take a, an or a plural ending: information, furniture, luggage, baggage, scenery, advice, equipment, machinery, poetry, work and news. News is singular, so the news is good is correct.

Pronoun rules
- After a preposition, use the object form: between you and me.
- Each, every, either and neither take a singular pronoun and verb.
- Use one's after one: one must do one's duty.
- The order of persons in a good statement is second, third, first: you, he and I.
- In admitting a fault, the order reverses: I, you and he are to blame.

How error spotting is set
SSC divides the sentence into three or four parts and asks which part contains the error, with a no error option included. Read each part on its own and check the grammar rather than the meaning, since the sentence usually makes perfect sense either way. Check the verb against its subject first, then any article, then any preposition, in that order.

Example 1. Choose the correct form: He is an European or He is a European. A European, because the word begins with a consonant sound.
Example 2. Correct the sentence: He gave me many advices. It should be much advice, since advice is uncountable.
Example 3. Correct the sentence: One should keep his word. It should be one's word.

Error spotting कैसे पूछा जाता है
SSC वाक्य को तीन या चार हिस्सों में बाँटकर पूछता है कि गलती किस हिस्से में है, और साथ में no error का विकल्प भी रखता है। हर हिस्से को अलग से पढ़ें और अर्थ नहीं, grammar जाँचें, क्योंकि वाक्य का अर्थ तो दोनों तरह से ठीक ही लगता है। पहले verb को उसके subject से मिलाएँ, फिर article, फिर preposition — इसी क्रम में।
